Create another organisation

For admins

If you already use ChronoTab you can create another organisation yourself — for a different GitHub organisation, a client’s team, or a personal workspace. You do not need NFN Labs to set it up. The entry point is on the Settings page, so this page is for org admins.

Members and managers do not see Settings, so they have no Create another organization button. If that is you, ask an org admin, or see Can I create my own organisation?.

  1. Open Settings and find the Another organization section, then choose Create another organization. (It is no longer in the sidebar.)

The Another organization section of Settings with the Create another organization button.

  2. ChronoTab asks you to sign in with GitHub again. This confirms it is you; it does not create a second account.

  3. Follow the same steps as a first-time sign-up: connect the ChronoTab GitHub App, choose a name and timezone, accept the Terms of Service. If the App is already installed on the GitHub account you choose, you skip the install and continue with that installation.

  4. When it finishes, the new organisation opens as your active organisation. Your existing organisation stays available from the organisation menu at the top of the sidebar — see Switch between teams.

The new organisation is separate: its own members, roles, repositories, clients, settings and data. Nothing is shared with your other organisation, and people in one cannot see the other.

  • For a GitHub organisation, you must be an owner of it on GitHub. If you are not an owner, ChronoTab shows “Only an owner can connect this organization” — ask an owner to start at Get started; because the App is already installed, they skip straight to setup. A request to install the App goes to the owners if you ask from GitHub.
  • For a personal GitHub account, you can create a workspace just for you. You can connect your team’s GitHub organisation later as a separate organisation.
  • Someone whose GitHub organisation is already on ChronoTab is shown that instead of a new organisation: ask an admin there to add you.

For a GitHub organisation, every GitHub owner becomes an admin of the new organisation, and you choose whether to add all current members now (and new members automatically) or just the owners for now. For a personal account, you are the only admin. See Members and roles to change roles later.

To prevent abuse, there is a limit on how many organisations one person can start in a day, and ChronoTab may pause sign-ups platform-wide at busy times. If you see “Sign-up isn’t available right now”, wait and try again later, or contact support@chronotab.com. See Troubleshooting.
