Sign out

For members, managers and admins

Signing out ends your session in the ChronoTab dashboard. This page explains where the button is and what it does and does not affect. It is for every role.

  1. Find the Sign out button at the bottom of the sidebar, beside your role badge. It is a small icon button named Sign out.
  2. Select it. You return to the Sign in to ChronoTab screen.

Signing out ends your session on ChronoTab’s servers, not just in this tab, so the session cannot be used again. Any other dashboard tabs you have open in the same browser are signed out too.

Signing out does not change any of your logged time. Your entries stay exactly as they were, and any timesheet built from them is unaffected. Signing back in with Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub returns you to the same organisation and data.

You stay signed in to the dashboard after you close the tab or restart your browser, for up to 24 hours from when you signed in. After that, ChronoTab asks you to sign in again. On a shared or public computer, sign out when you finish rather than just closing the tab.

Signing out of the dashboard does not sign the browser extension out. The extension keeps the keys it holds on that browser and carries on working until you deal with it directly:

  • To disconnect the extension on a browser, open the extension’s settings and select Sign out. This forgets every organisation connected on that browser; you can reconnect later with Sign in to connect.
  • To stop a key being usable everywhere, an org admin can Revoke it from that person’s API keys panel on the Members page. See Your API keys.
