What to do first
For admins
When you create a ChronoTab organisation yourself, the first screen you see — My week — carries a Set up your organization card with a short list of next steps. This page explains each one and why it matters. It is for org admins.
The checklist
Section titled “The checklist”The card reads “A few things to get your new organization ready.” It has up to four links. Each one is simply a link; ChronoTab does not tick items off, so use the card as a to-do list and come back to the pages as you need them.

- Install the Chrome extension — logging time from GitHub issues is quickest with the extension. This link appears once the extension is available to install. See Install the browser extension.
- Set up clients — create the clients you send timesheets to and tag repositories to them, so reports and timesheets are grouped correctly. See Clients.
- Review members — check who is in the organisation and their roles. If you chose to add members automatically when you created the organisation, people may still be arriving; if you chose owners only, add people here. See Members and roles.
- Check repositories — choose which of the repositories visible to the GitHub App ChronoTab should track. Time can only be logged against tracked repositories. See Repositories.
Who sees it and for how long
Section titled “Who sees it and for how long”- Only org admins see the card. Members and managers never do.
- It shows only for a newly created organisation, for its first 14 days. After that it is hidden, even if you have not dismissed it.
- Dismiss hides it for this organisation in the browser you are using. It does not hide it from other admins or from your other browsers. If your browser blocks site storage, the card hides for that visit only.
Also worth doing early
Section titled “Also worth doing early”- Check the timezone you chose in Organisation settings. A work day runs midnight to midnight in the organisation’s timezone. Your own Profile timezone starts at the same value and you can change it any time.
- Add branding and set timesheet rounding before your first timesheet — see Organisation settings.
- Keys belong to people, not to the organisation. Connecting the extension creates your own key, and an admin’s keys for scripts are managed from Members — see Organisation API keys.
- Log your first entry: Log your first entry.
